Pantomime 2025/2026 – Dick Whittington & His Cat
The Purrr-fect Pantomime adventure this Christmas!
Stevenage’s favourite, Aidan O’Neill, who this year is celebrating 10 years at the Gordon Craig Theatre, will cause much hilarity as Idle Jack.
Playing the title role of Dick Whittington will be EastEnders and Dancing on Ice star, Matt Lapinskas. West End icon, Darren Day, will be taking on the role of Fitzwarren – proud father to Alice and Dick Whittington’s new boss.
Aidan will be reunited with Mark Siney as Sarah the Cook, whilst Steven Serlin also makes a triumphant return to play King Rat, having wowed audiences as Captain Hook last Christmas.
They will be joined by musical theatre stars Nicola Bryan as the magical Fairy Bow-Bells, Georgie Hales will be the strident Alice Fitzwarren and Daisy Fitzgerald will be the acrobatic Cat.
Join our intrepid hero Dick Whittington and his extraordinary cat on their quest for fame, fortune and fantastic adventures as they journey to London to become Lord Mayor.

The Cast

Aidan is delighted to be back for his 11th Panto in a row at the Gordon Craig Theatre. He loves spending his Christmas here and is always made to feel so welcome by the locals. Before appearing in Stevenage Panto Aidan played The Comic in many other Theatres including The Grand Opera House Belfast, His Majesty’s Theatre Aberdeen and The Liverpool Empire alongside Julian Clary.

Singer and Television Presenter Darren Day known for his roles on the West End stage joins the cast of Dick Whittington as Alderman. With many theatre credits to his name and no less than 24 leading pantomime roles to date it’s no wonder that Darren has been nominated for numerous awards including Best Villain at The Great British Pantomime awards.

Matt Lapinskas starred in EastEnders as Anthony Moon for two years then straight onto our TV screens in Dancing on Ice where he made the final. It wasn’t long before Matt was venturing into the world of Musical theatre as Pharoah in the touring show Joseph and the Amazing Techincolour Dreamcoat.

Steven returns to Stevenage for his third villain after wowing audiences as Abanazar in Aladdin 2021 and most recently as Captain Hook in The All New Adventures of Peter Pan in 2024. Earlier this year Steven was invited to join the company of Stephen Sondheim’s final musical, Here we Are, performing in the Lyttleton Theatre at The National as part of the 2025 season.

Mark began his professional career as a Pontin’s Blue Coat and award-winning cabaret vocalist. After watching The Phantom of the Opera for his 17th birthday Mark was delighted to join the show some years later in Edinburgh, followed by The West End and then Hamburg in German. He is delighted to be returning to The Gordon Craig Theatre after appearing as Mrs Smee in the New Adventures of Peter Pan last year.

Georgie Hales is delighted to be performing in this production of Dick Whittington and his Cat as Alice Fitzwarren this Christmas and would like to thank her family, friends and wonderful agents for their constant support.

Daisy Fitzgerald is back flipping into the role of the Acrobatic Cat, a part she has loved performing for Jordan Productions in previous years across the country.

Nicola Bryan returns to Stevenage after playing Fairy Fortywinks in Sleeping Beauty in 2023. This year Nicola will take on the role of Fairy Bow Bells our fabulous magical sprite.
