At the Eric Morecambe Centre, we strive to make all events across our venues as accessible as possible. We aim to programme performances with a range of access needs in mind, including British Sign Language interpretation, captioning and relaxed performances. Quiet spaces and touch tours may be available upon request. If you have any specific queries or concerns, please contact the venue’s box office for more information.
Services
Wheelchair User Access
There is wheelchair access throughout the building with access to the lower levels via a lift. We do not have automatic doors aside from the entrance. There is level access to the entrance of the Eric Morecambe Centre, this a gravelled path and slope.
A limited number of wheelchair spaces are available in the Auditorium. Please speak to a member of box office or email [email protected] if you require wheelchair spaces as these cannot be booked online. If you have an exceptionally large and/or specialist wheelchair, please contact the venue for guidance on the best seating areas offered.
There is limited blue badge holders parking in Harpenden Leisure Centre car park. These cannot be pre-booked. Please get in touch if you have queries regarding this.
Toilets are situated on the ground and lower floors with disabled toilets on both levels.
Deaf / Hard of Hearing:
At the Eric Morecambe Centre, we have a WaveCAST WIFI system for individuals who are Hard of Hearing. In order to access this: Download Williams AV Wavecast App. Connect to the Wavecast Wifi network. (this will have no Internet Access). Open the app and select what you want to listen to. Once connected, the ticket holder must ensure their phone is connected to their aid and the aid is the selected audio output. The app will only work within the auditorium. If you require seating to lip-read, please contact the venue’s box office.
Certain performances are BSL signed for the deaf/hard of hearing. For further information on these please contact the Box Office on 01582 767525
Assistance Dogs:
Your guide or hearing dog is welcome: please advise the Box Office at time of booking. We do require proof of eligibility through a Recognised Assistance Dog ID card.

Access Information
We currently do not offer online bookings for our accessible seating. Patrons are encouraged to book tickets in person or through our box offices.
Please contact the venue/s box office either by telephone, email or in person to discuss your access requirements. Customers looking to book access tickets and who require a Personal Assistant / Essential Companion must provide documentation and Photo ID to confirm eligibility. This also applies to Carers booking on behalf of someone else.
To book Essential Companion tickets please provide:

Personal Assistant/Essential companion tickets or discounts are only available to those paying for a full price adult ticket. These do not apply to those accompanying children under 16 who are not permitted in our venues without an accompanying adult.
We appreciate some customers will not currently be registered with Nimbus Disability. As we undergo organisational changes which will improve our service, we are working to provide a free registration with Nimbus for our access customers, however in the meantime, please contact the box office team directly who can make alternative arrangements.
