The St Albans Arts Team are dedicated to organising events and fostering community engagement. Their goals include:
- Supporting the creative community in the St Albans & Harpenden district to ensure everyone has access to artistic experiences.
- Reaching out to marginalised and isolated communities to tell their stories through the arts.
- Making a positive impact on people’s lives through high-quality arts experiences.
Inclusivity is at the heart of the team’s innovative approach. They often collaborate with marginalised and excluded communities, enabling them to participate in the cultural narrative of the district and share their stories with the wider public.
The team has hosted many outdoor exhibitions featuring art, photography, poetry, and haiku, connecting with individuals living with poor mental health and chronic health conditions, as well as environmental groups and the public.
They have brought live music to the streets and green spaces of the district, showcasing young local artists, older performers, artists from diverse cultural backgrounds, and individuals with various disabilities. The team also facilitates workshops and programs that allow groups and communities to explore new art forms and share their work with the public.
